Griffith College PALs are here to support you with your assignments and study responsibilities, while your MATEs are ready to be a friend and a familiar presence during your time on campus.
In addition to lecturer consultations and support from Student Learning Advisors, Griffith College students are also able to make a booking with a PAL.
PAL stands for “Peer Assisted Learner” and represents a friendly group of your fellow students who are available to assist you with your assignments and study responsibilities. Our PALs are carefully selected based on their academic performance (they have achieved a Distinction or High Distinction in one of their courses).
Meeting with a PAL is a fun and relaxed way to improve your learning! You can meet with a PAL face to face, online or in small groups of up to 4 people. To make a booking, click below or navigate to the Digital Campus (current students only).

I developed these skills during PAL sessions with 1015MSC students as they are currently facing concepts that completely differ from their previous course 1001GRC, one good example is identifying functional groups. Our MATEs are a vibrant team of current Australian and international students from across the world. They volunteer their time to help students adjust to College life through a range of community events and fun activities.
Connecting with Griffith MATEs is a great way to practise your English, make new friends, find your way around campus and become acquainted with the Australian environment!
Being part of the Griffith College MATEs program is a great way for you to increase your job readiness skills. Our MATEs also form the Student Liaison Committee (SLC) and meet twice a trimester. The SLC is an important part of the College as this group represents the voice of our students.
