Checklist for Success

Pre-Departure

1. Offer and Payment

You may qualify for a scholarship if you accept your offer to study with us by the cut-off date. Find out more about our scholarship options.

2. Visa and Passport

Make sure you have a valid student visa and a passport with at least six months validity.

3. Orientation Week

Orientation week is a fun, friendly introduction to study and campus life in Australia! It is important for you to attend to get to know your campus, make new friends and prepare yourself for study. When booking your flights, make sure you will arrive in time to attend. Complete your pre-orientation checklist  to get a head start.

4. Accommodation

It’s important to allow yourself plenty of time to arrange accommodation as it can quickly book out! There are a range of options that are close to campus with easy access to public transport. Take a look.

 

Arriving on campus

5. Airport Pickup

It’s a good idea to arrange airport pickup to take you to your accommodation for when you arrive in Australia. Please contact us if you need assistance booking airport transfers.

6. Student Learning Advisors

Once you arrive, we have a team of advisors ready to assist you to get settled in and find their way around campus.

You can always reach out to our advisors if you need any kind of help in future. To book a time, hop on to the Digital Campus, navigate to “Support” and then “Book an Appointment”.

7. Laptops

Laptops are essential. As an important part of your study experience at Griffith College, you may either bring a laptop with you or purchase one in Australia. Having a laptop will allow you to engage with your learning material, complete required course assessment and remain up to date with college communications.

 

Jumping into study

8. Microsoft Office 365

Once you have your laptop ready to go, you will be sent instructions to download and install Microsoft Office 365 on your laptop at no cost – once you accept your offer, receive your COE and access the Digital Campus.

9. Time Management

You should be looking at spending 10-15 hours per week on each subject you are studying. This includes time spent in class, labs, workshop, group and individual study at home.

10. Embrace the adventure!

You are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Make sure to arrive with an open mind, a willingness to listen and engage with your classmates.
