Located in the heart of Brisbane’s thriving CBD, our brand new city campus is now officially open.

Griffith College has officially relocated its Mt Gravatt campus to a new, state-of-the-art campus, delivering an exceptional learning experience in the vibrant heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

You can find us at 333 Ann Street, Brisbane. Griffith College is located on Levels 5, 6 and 7 (Reception is on Level 5). Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) is located on Level 8.

General FAQs

Why is Griffith College moving from Mount Gravatt?

The Mount Gravatt campus of Griffith University will close permanently for students from 2025.

As such, Griffith College will relocate to a newly established campus in the Brisbane Central Business District (CBD) which will be referred to as Griffith College Brisbane City campus.

Importantly, this move only impacts students studying in Brisbane, and only from October 2024. There are no changes for students currently studying or looking to study at the Gold Coast campus.

What is the location of the new campus?

The new campus is located at 333 Ann Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000.

When will the new campus open?

Subject to regulatory approval, the new Brisbane City campus will officially open on Monday 14 October 2024.

Other key dates to be aware of include:

  • Friday 4 October 2024: Conclusion of exams for Trimester Two
  • Friday 11 October 2024: Closure of Mount Gravatt campus
  • Thursday 24 October 2024: Orientation for new students in Trimester Three
  • Monday 28 October 2024: Classes commence at the Brisbane City campus

It is important to note that trimester two will operate as planned at the Mount Gravatt campus.

Will the new campus be solely for Griffith College, or will any other Griffith University business units or Academic Groups be based on the campus?

The Brisbane City campus will be home for both Griffith College and Griffith English Language Institute (GELI). This will reflect a similar campus environment to the Griffith University Gold Coast campus where Griffith College and GELI share a building.

Griffith College will deliver classes across levels 5, 6 and 7 of the building, whilst GELI will deliver classes on level 8.

What are the opening hours of the new campus?

The intention is for the campus to be open from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday.

It will be closed on weekends and public holidays.

How do students access the new campus?

All students will be required to show a valid Griffith College student ID card to access the campus.

Where do I need to go if I need assistance at the new campus?

Our Student Support team will be pleased to assist you with any queries and will be located at the College reception on level five of the Brisbane City Campus.

Do I have access to Student Learning Advisors and counsellors at the new campus?

Yes. Student Learning Advisors and counsellors currently available at Mount Gravatt will also be available at the new campus and the method to make appointments will not change.

Do I have access to support services offered at Griffith University?

Yes. Students are still able to access support services at Griffith University including Counselling and Wellbeing, Careers and Employment, Health and Medical Services, and Chaplaincy. Information about these services can be found here. Most services are located at the Nathan campus which is located 13 kilometres from the new Brisbane City campus and is easily accessible by public transport, with bus services operating every 30 minutes Monday to Friday.
Students are also welcome to access learning services at Griffith University libraries such as generic skills, library orientation and information literacy workshops.

What does the new campus offer?

What courses will be offered at the new campus?

The courses currently being offered at Mount Gravatt will also be made available at the new Brisbane City campus. These courses are continually reviewed; should any changes occur, these will be advised on our website.

What happens with laboratory-based classes?

For students studying programs that require access to laboratories, these classes will be delivered at Griffith University’s Nathan campus. The Nathan campus is located 13 kilometres from the new Brisbane City campus and is easily accessible by public transport, with bus services operating every 30 minutes Monday to Friday.

Laboratory classes at the Nathan campus will be timetabled to allow sufficient travel time between the two campuses.

What security measures will the new campus have?

The new Brisbane City campus will have security staff on premises during opening hours.

What is located near the campus?

Transport FAQs

How accessible is the new campus?

The Brisbane City campus is very accessible by all public transport modes for students residing in all suburbs across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

The closest public transport stops to the new campus are:

  • Ann Street stop 6A (Bus): 100 metres
  • Central Railway Station (Train): 200 metres
  • Riverside Ferry Terminal (Ferry): 400 metres

You can plan your travel on public transport via Translink.

Can I access concession fares on public transport?

All full-time students studying an accredited award program are able to access concession fares on public transport. For more information on public transport, visit Translink.

For a six month period from 5 August 2024, all journeys on Queensland public transport (including trains, buses, trams and ferries) will cost a maximum of 50 cents which is less expensive than existing concession fares. Students will still be required to purchase a ticket or utilise a Go Card but this represents excellent savings for all travellers.

Is parking available on-site for students?

Unfortunately, there is no on-site parking available for students. Should students wish to drive to campus, parking is available at a number of public and private parking stations located nearby. The closest is Cornerstone Parking, 300 Ann Street. Fees apply for all parking stations.

Is there accommodation on-site or nearby?

Although the new campus does not offer on-site student accommodation, it is ideally located to numerous student accommodation buildings all within a short walk of the campus:

I live or are planning to live near the Mt Gravatt campus. What happens now?

We appreciate that a change in campus may have an impact to your living and travel arrangements. Ultimately, there are several public transport routes across Brisbane which operate services in/out of the city centre. If your intention is to study at the Nathan campus post Griffith College, accommodation near Nathan campus may be the best long-term option.

Alternatively, dedicated student accommodation is available within five minutes’ walk to the new Brisbane City campus.

Continuing Students FAQs

I’m planning to continue my studies in trimester three. What do I need to do for the new Brisbane City campus move?

It is important to note that there are no changes happening for trimester two and your studies will continue as planned at the Mount Gravatt campus.

As the new campus is subject to regulatory approval, Griffith College will communicate with you to share further details between now and the intended opening in October.

Will class sizes be the same at the new campus?

Class sizes may vary slightly at the new Brisbane CBD campus due to classroom capacity however Griffith College will continue its promise of delivering high quality education in a small classroom environment.

Will IT systems be the same at the new campus?

IT access and Wi-Fi connectivity will be the same at the new CBD campus as it currently is at the Mount Gravatt campus.  The new campus has excellent high-speed connectivity and further information relating to IT services will be shared closer to trimester three.

Will my timetable be the same as Mt Gravatt?

Classes may operate on a slightly different schedule to the Mount Gravatt campus however it is proposed that all classes will finish no later than 7.30pm. Prior to trimester three, further information will be shared about timetables for the new CBD campus.

What if I have paid for parking at the Mount Gravatt campus for the remainder of 2024?

If you have paid in advance for parking, a refund will be made available for any unused parking based on a pro-rata basis.  Requests for refunds need to be directed to Services@Griffith and the Griffith University finance department.

Future Students FAQs

I am commencing at the Mount Gravatt campus in trimester two, 2024. How does this move affect me?

Whether you are a Domestic or International student commencing this July, your study plans for your first study period (trimester two) will not be affected.

You will study at the Mt Gravatt campus with orientation being held on Thursday 27 June.

Upon completion of your first trimester of study, you will then continue your studies at the new Brisbane CBD campus.  Classes commence at the new Brisbane CBD campus from Monday 28 October 2024.

If I commence in trimester two, what do I need to do when changing campuses?

Griffith College will manage the changes to your Confirmation of Enrolment when you transfer to the new Brisbane CBD campus.

I have accepted an offer to study at Mount Gravatt in October 2024 or later. What happens now?

As you have accepted an offer of place with Griffith College from October 2024 or later, you will be issued a revised Letter of Offer with the updated campus information once we receive approval from our regulator. Upon receipt of the revised Letter of Offer, we ask that you confirm your intention to study with us by accepting the updated Letter of Offer via the Studylink portal. If you decide to withdraw your application, you will be eligible for a full refund of tuition fees paid.

What are the key dates I need to be aware of if I am starting in trimester three at the new Brisbane City campus?

  • Thursday 24 October 2024        Orientation
  • Monday 28 October 2024          Classes commence
