Griffith College Diplomas

Our university-designed diplomas are structured to provide the same amount of credit points as your first year of study at Griffith University.

Whether you’re a high school leaver, someone returning to education after taking a short or long break, a nearby local or a far-flung international visitor, all our students have one thing in common… a need for speed. In other words, everyone who studies with us wants to see rapid results from their efforts.

Our university-designed, AQF 5 level one-year diplomas are structured to provide the same amount of credit points as the first year’s degree study at Griffith University.

A 3-year degree requires students to earn 240 credit points. In most cases, our diplomas are worth 80 credit points towards this total. This means most Griffith College students can progress directly to the second year of their degree at Griffith Universityˆ.

Our study structure allows for diplomas to be achieved in just two trimesters. This means you could be ready for second-year degree study after just 8 months with us. With many of these subjects being taught on the same Griffith campus, the transition is made even simpler.

Additional Study Areas

Academic Skills & Professional Development

All Griffith College students will complete our Academic and Professional Development subject. This program has been created to support students to develop their academic skills and language. The program will help students transition to higher education studies covering topics including; academic integrity, analytical and critical thinking, citation and referencing, effective research, reading literature analytically and critically as well as applying knowledge and research to develop and support an argument. The skills from this course will set students up for success at the College and into their university studies.

Core Maths Skills

Ensure you have the core skills of mathematics before you move onto further maths and science study in your diploma and bachelor programs. The mathematics support modules are a free component of the diploma and compulsory unless you demonstrate maths aptitude in a maths ready quiz at orientation.

The support modules provide personalised learning for each student based on diagnostic testing at the start of the course. With successful completion of the maths ready quiz, you may choose to pace your diploma study over two trimesters.

English Language Development Module

If you are an international student entering your program with the minimum English language requirement, you will benefit from 2 free and compulsory Language Development Modules (LDMs) as part of your diploma program. The LDMs enable you to develop your English language skills in a participatory learning environment, integrated within academic courses, to support overall achievement in those academic courses. You will take the modules concurrently with academic courses and they consist of two hours face-to-face instruction per week and three hours of online self-access. Successful completion of the 2 modules is required to graduate with a diploma award.
